Make a gift and leave a legacy of better health

Our beginnings can be traced to James Decker Munson, MD who donated a Traverse City boarding house for use as a community hospital in 1915. Traverse City fathers Perry Hannah and James A. Lay donated land to build a permanent hospital in 1925 where Munson Medical Center stands today.

From the Sisters of Mercy and the Otsego County Memorial Hospital Association who had the foresight to build community hospitals in Cadillac, Grayling and Gaylord, to the Lake Michigan communities of Charlevoix, Manistee and Frankfort, compassion and a sense of mission have been the pillars upon which these hometown hospitals that make up the Munson Healthcare family were founded. Today, these hospitals are here for you, taking care of your family, friends, and neighbors.
